Pia Zawa

PiaZawa2-Sample-Cover

BUGS! (Oh my gosh)

software_bug

Well, we were just informed by a reader that we have a bug! Sound the alarms!

This bug occurs when you run iOS4.0 or iOS4.0.1 on a 3GS (or iPhone4).

Bug description:
If you press the Home button while reading a comic, then Kill the app through the Task Menu, the application does not store your last read position, and makes you re-read from your previous stored position (or from the start of the comic if it is the first time you are reading the comic).

This is VERY annoying and we are very sorry about this. Rest assured that we are working on fixing this, and should have an update to you all in the very near future.

In the meantime, you can use the following work-around:
1) Tap the center of screen to make the Toolbar appear (while reading)
2) Press the “Return” (Arrow in top left corner) button
3) Press the Home button
4) Kill the app the usual way

This does not happen on the 3G or Touch devices.

That very observant user has been rewarded with 3 free comics of his choice!

Wakan Unwanted – unwanted on the AppStore

    Wakan2-Sample-2

We have adapted 3 issues of the exciting new comic “Wakan Unwanted” series from Norwegian Anakata Comics, but so far Apple is saying its Unwanted.

Wakan Unwanted is an alternate reality western set in an Old West of Sioux spirits and
steampunk technology. Twenty years after the forced exodus of all former slaves, Clarius Cole finds himself the last black man in America. In his struggle for freedom, Clarius must confront rampant bigotry, brutal crime, and the deepest mystery of them all.

We believe Apple misjudged the intention of the comic, and it was rejected on the basis of being racist and unsuitable for the AppStore. We have re-submitted it with a story-arc description, so hopefully they can see the comic for what it really is – a great story about the struggle of one man against oppression.

As for now, all we can do is wait and hope that Apple changes its mind and makes Wakan Unwanted erhm…Wanted…
